Perimenopause & Menopause, Explained
The what, the why, and what actually helps.
Most women arrive at this stage with a pile of symptoms, a shrug from the system, and the sense that they are supposed to just get on with it. One evening, live with both of us, to walk through what is genuinely happening in your body - and the levers you actually have.
What we will cover
Three questions, answered properly.
The what
What is actually happening
Perimenopause is not a switch that flips at 50. It is a years-long shift, and the hormones involved do far more than run your cycle - they touch sleep, mood, blood sugar, bone, muscle and gut. We will map the actual sequence, in plain language.
The why
Why your symptoms look like that
Why the 3am wake-ups. Why weight moves to the middle. Why your energy, your patience and your workouts all changed at once. These are not separate problems - they share a small number of upstream causes, and once you see them they stop feeling random.
The how
What actually helps
The levers that make the biggest difference at this stage, in the order worth pulling them: blood sugar, sleep, protein and muscle, digestion, and load management. What the research supports, what is noise, and where testing is worth it.
Who this is for
If any of this sounds familiar, you are in the right room.
- You are somewhere between 38 and 58 and things changed without you changing anything
- Sleep broke first, and everything else followed
- The weight, the bloating, or the middle-of-the-night wake-ups are new - or newly relentless
- You were told your labs are normal and you are fine, and you do not feel fine
- What used to work - the eating, the training, the powering through - has stopped working
- You want to understand what is happening before deciding what to do about it
How we come at it
The whole picture, not one hormone.
We are Nick and Heather, and we run Tethered Health together. We coach women through exactly this stage, and we do it from a whole-body starting point.
That means we do not treat this as a single hormone problem with a single fix. Your sleep, blood sugar, digestion, stress load, muscle and nutrition are all part of the same system - and at this stage they stop tolerating being ignored. We look at how they interact, we run functional labs ourselves rather than sending you elsewhere, and we build from what the data actually says.
The evening is live, both of us, with real time for your questions. Nothing pre-recorded.
Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00 PM Central.
Live on Zoom, free to attend, and worth the evening. Register and we will send you the link along with a reminder before we start.
